Dec 5, 2018 - Once the Mac has restarted, head to System Preferences (Apple menu > System Preferences) and select Xbox 360 Controllers – it should be a new icon at the bottom of the list. Plug in your Xbox One controller and tweak the button mapping as desired.
I am a big fan of the xbox 360 controller driver for mac, but it no longer works in Lion. The driver worked well in leopard, but I can't get it working on SL or Lion. The software installs without any problems, but I cannot get my controller to connect - it is stuck on 'no devices found.'
The drivers are available on tattiebogle.com - I also found and followed the additional instructions, but it's still not connecting. I have been trying to contact the developer about SL issues for over a year with no response so I figured I wouldn't waste my time asking him about Lion and came here instead. Any ideas on how to get this working? The OP listed the best help link I found in the Discussions.
Only other I found would be which is current, but deals with MacOS 10.4. Simple google search turns up as top hits: (which was last udated 02/11) Also this article. (uses the above driver and another purchased SW item - from the App Store). I do not have access to any 360 controller so I cannot confirm this as being a solution in any way. Again, this is a site for help with Apple Products and Technologies, and people who help here try to use tried and tested solutions, as outlined in the. I as a ACMT try to help with Apple technologies, which this is particular topic is trying to integrate into, but not supported by Apple. As such, and historically (for the last 10+ years of these forums) this topic has not had much support.
Since Lion is 64bit and some core resources have changed, the 3rd party developers will have to update their products for any solution to work. Contacting them, letting them know there is still a need, and supporting them is the fastest way to a solution for this particular topic. You can however that you would like to see them directly support this functionality. Have you tried?
This whole discussions should probably be in or to catch the eye of someone who can hopefully come up with/develop/update a solution to this topic, on these forums. Otherwise I think sourceforge will be the best bet for this problem. One of the manufactures of my older controllers, the Macally iShock, has decided not to update their drivers for Intel macs, which is sad because it used to work well as I recall. I could list a bunch of other ways that this used to work as well, but all are so out of date, they were not worth mentioning. Hopefully one of the more recent methods mentined above, that used to work, still can with an update. Still in same situation on Lion 10.7.4 I've tried TattieBogle most recent builds as well as.08 suggested by this post but TattieBogle by itself always arrives at the 'No devices found' situation, and in that previous link, there is a 'Controller List installer' that you need to finish his instructions, and that package has an error for me during installation.
I'm trying to connect a standard Xbox360 wireless controller using the wired attachment and no luck so far. I've even tried booting up Windows 7 using Vmware Fusion, downloading windows drivers that Microsoft has available, and connecting that way. Still no luck. I hate to sound like a tool, but why isn't there a Mac app for this? Seems like it would be just as popular/useful as Rivet, Crossover, etc. I'd definitely pay $10 for it. Apple Footer.
